Summary
vLLM versions from 0.19.0 before 0.24.0 contain a decompression bomb flaw in the AudioMediaIO multimodal path, which calls load_audio without the max_duration_s decoded-duration limit. Authenticated attackers can send small compressed audio through input_audio or audio_url in /v1/chat/completions requests, and the audio expands to huge decoded PCM that exhausts server memory.
Mitigation
The source does not state a fix yet. Check the original advisory for updates.
