CVE-2021-29533 affects TensorFlow. Passing an empty image to tf.raw_ops.DrawBoundingBoxes triggers a CHECK failure, because the implementation uses CHECK_* assertions instead of OP_REQUIRES to validate user-controlled inputs. An attacker can crash the process and cause a denial of service, since a zero height in the images input makes max_box_row_clamp negative and aborts execution.

Mitigation

The fix will be included in TensorFlow 2.5.0. The commit will also be cherry-picked to TensorFlow 2.4.2, TensorFlow 2.3.3, TensorFlow 2.2.3 and TensorFlow 2.1.4.
