Rewarding defenders with bigger bug bounties

Summary

OpenAI is raising rewards in its Security Bug Bounty program and adding report quality, loyalty and priority campaign bonuses for independent researchers. A critical vulnerability in a core product such as ChatGPT, Codex or the API Platform now earns up to $30,000, with exceptional critical findings eligible for up to $172,000 with bonuses. Retroactive payments apply to reports awarded in the 30 days before the announcement.
