Anthropic launches cheaper AI model, its second release since CEO's call for a slowdown

Summary
Anthropic released Sonnet 5.5, a faster and lower-cost model that the company says is better at coding, scoped tasks, and producing documents, slides and spreadsheets than its predecessor. Anthropic says the model has cybersecurity capabilities that are a "large improvement" over its predecessor, and it is the first Sonnet model to launch with cyber safeguards Anthropic developed for its most capable models. Sonnet 5.5 is priced at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens and is available on AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.
