CVE-2021-29561 affects TensorFlow. An attacker can trigger a denial of service by sending a non-scalar tensor as the first argument of tf.raw_ops.LoadAndRemapMatrix, where the implementation assumes ckpt_path is always a valid scalar. The resulting rank CHECK in scalar<T>()() fails and terminates the process.

Mitigation

Fix will be included in TensorFlow 2.5.0. The commit will also be cherrypicked to TensorFlow 2.4.2, 2.3.3, 2.2.3 and 2.1.4.
