Summary
CVE-2024-1729 is a timing attack vulnerability in the gradio-app/gradio repository, within the login function in routes.py. The login check uses a direct comparison, app.auth[username] == password, so an attacker can guess passwords by measuring response times, and successful exploitation could allow authentication bypass and unauthorized access. NVD has not yet provided an assessment.
Mitigation
The source links a commit (https://github.com/gradio-app/gradio/commit/e329f1fd38935213fe0e73962e8cbd5d3af6e87b) and a huntr.dev bounty page tagged as Patch, but it does not describe the fix or a fixed version in its text.
